Ed Olson as Phillip Sprocket

Edward Frank Olson is fairly new to the Tampa area after living in Europe for the last 19 years. He has been cast as Phillip Sprocket and is very happy to be part of this very experienced cast and crew.

Ed is a retired Army Officer (Viet Nam Veteran) with 34+ years of active duty and retired in Oct 2002. “I am fortunate to have four (4) grown daughters, three (3) hard-working son-in-laws, six (6) grandchildren and a lovely wife (Alyson) whom is the constant and true north for me”.

Les Miserables was his first taste of the stage (Roadside Theater in Heidelberg Germany) and has been fortunate to have been cast in many other plays.

His credits include “FDR” in Annie; “Greylag” in Honk!; “Professor Marvel/The Wizard” in The Wizard of OZ; “Malvolio” in the Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night (in this role Ed was nominated for a European TOPPER award for best supporting role in a comedy); “Lt. Brannigan” in Guys and Dolls, the “Constable” in Fiddler on the Roof. “Sir Harry Bumpers” in School for Scandal (Ed was nominated and won a European TOPPER as the Stage Manager). He was also “Ira” in Tales of the Allergist’s Wife.

Ed also had the opportunity to play “Mr. Cohen” in Come to Good, directed by Dan LeMorte, starring Allan Ruck (of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Twister and of Spin City fame).

Since living in the Tampa area he has completed work as Tony Longo in She Could Be You which will premiere in November.
